The “Ultimate 4” speedway road trip – 2019

A combination of our most requested events from previous tour groups’ feedback forms.

This tour will only proceed if a minimum of 10 travellers confirm their intention with deposit payments.

It starts with our signature Knoxville Nationals Tour and then moves on to the spectacle and excitement of the NASCARS at Bristol, the sensational 410 non winged USAC sprintcars in the four night Smackdown event at Kokomo, followed by the NHRA Drag Nationals in Indianapolis.

In the tradition of our Florida Speedweek Tour it will be as rich in touring destinations as it is in racing, however please note that numbers for this boutique tour are strictly limited to maximise the experience. Early registrations of interest are strongly recommended as spots will be strictly allocated on a first in first served basis.

Our 2015 and 2016 tours were booked out very quickly, such is the popularity of this trip. 

Never before have we been able to offer the opportunity to see all of the major racing divisions in one Tour. 410 winged and non winged Sprintcars, NASCARS, XFINITY Series, Craftsman Trucks, Late Models and every division of Drag Racing.

When the World of Outlaws, NASCAR, USAC and the NHRA release their 2019 schedules we will lock down the tour itinerary. However for now we have left the 2016 itinerary in place below so you can get a feel for the style of the tour.

Remember the words below refer to the 2016 tour. 

The Knoxville Nationals commence on Wednesday August 10th, the NASCARS are at Bristol on Saturday August 20th, USAC’s non winged 410 sprintcars are at Kokomo for Smackdown on August 25th – 27th and the NHRA Drag Racing Nationals start Wednesday August 31st.   

You will leave Australia on Tuesday August 9th arriving same day in Des Moines ready to transfer to the Royal Amsterdam Hotel in Pella, Iowa.  You will arrive back in Australia on Thursday September 8th.

The itinerary as it will apply in 2016 is set out further below in table format, but just to whet your appetite: 

• We will commence in Knoxville for the 410 Sprint Car Nationals where we will overlap with our Month of Money Tour group. 
  

• We will then jet off from Des Moines to Indianapolis to pick up our travelling vehicle and renew our long established acquaintance with the Courtyard Marriott and the Bourbon Street Distillery.

• Then south down to Louisville in Kentucky to see the Mohammad Ali Museum, Churchill Downs (home of the Kentucky Derby) and maybe the Corvette factory in Bowling Green.

• Next day we head to Bristol for four nights of racing, but we will manage to visit our old mate Jim Beam at the Distillery on the way to see the Craftsman Trucks, plus the NASCARS in both the XFINITY and Sprint Cup and not to mention a $12,000 to win Ultimate Super Late Model race at nearby Volunteer Speedway on one of the steepest banked tracks in the USA.

• Time for a bit of fun, so let’s go to Nashville to visit Music Row, Sun Records and the Grand Ole Opry. We will stay near 6th Street where we can listen to all that great live music.

• Then how about Memphis, via another friend in Jack Daniels’ Distillery. Also we better call in and see Elvis at Graceland and the not to be missed Bike Night on Beale Street on a summer’s Wednesday evening.

• Time to head for Kokomo, Indiana for three successive nights of USAC non winged 410 sprintcar racing with all of America’s best in attendance at “Smackdown”.  Our accommodation is right in the heart of Kokomo for four nights. Yes we will need the fourth night just to recover.

• Then back to our home away from home, the Courtyard Marriott in Indianapolis where we will see all divisions compete at the US NHRA Drag Nationals. If you want to be in Drag heaven you could attend all six days, but we think you would probably prefer to break it up with a couple of nights of non wing sprintcar action at Bloomington or Gas City (Friday) and Lawrenceburg or Putnamville (Saturday). For that reason we will only include Drag Tickets for the final two days Sunday and Monday.

Tour Inclusions are an Air Fare Credit of $2,400, all ground transport and transfers, all accommodation in minimum 3.5 star hotels (see the links below), race tickets for the Ultimate 4 Tour events in Knoxville, Bristol, Kokomo and the NHRA Nationals (2 nights) and a Global Speedway Tours dinner at the Bourbon Street Distillery. Jim Beam and Jack Daniels visits, plus others such as Graceland etc will be optional and at personal expense.
